A Word on Sir Fred

So Stephen Hester lost his bonus and Fred Goodwin lost his knighthood. Strangely co-incidental that both these things should happen in the past two days. It's all starting to look like an episode of Borgen - BBC Four's fantastic Danish political drama about coalition politics. You can imagine the prime minister's spindoctor meeting Sir Bob Kerslake, the chief of the mysterious "Honours Forfeiture Committee" in a Westminster back alley to engineer the whole thing.
The "people" need a target for their fury. Much better for the Government that it is Stephen and Fred rather than Osborne or Cameron.
